Ok I played the updated version now I'm back to give more feedback!
The tutorial is much better now, and I really like the blocker things which make it so you have to be strategic with your shots (although I do miss the trail of death). I feel like the stretch of level you have to play on each death is slightly too long now, either checkpoints or shorter levels will fix this. There's a few pits that are impossible to escape from so it feels bad to have to redo the entire level after you miss a jump. But overall big improvement over the last version!
Glad you played it again! We're just uploading two more levels now - thanks again for the feedback, it's really useful. Yeah there's a balance to strike between the puzzle/strategy aspect and the awesome feeling of just tearing through the enemies - we'll keep working at it beyond the jam I think!
Definitely has potential to be developed further! It's a fun, unique concept, I could see it working really well as a puzzle platformer
pretty cool game! some things i would change would be
1.Change the aspect ratio of the game. the html window is too big compared to the game so some of the sprites are stretched and look distorted.
2. The game just repeats over and over, not sure if i'm missing something but i would add a proper end if there is only two rooms.
3. The gems don't make sense to me. Add a short tutorial or a way to explain using the game.

Thanks! Yeah It's not done yet- planning on fleshing out levels significantly, this is just a test of the mechanics and making sure I can upload and publish successfully really! I have about 24 hours on the clock for the jam luckily.
Gems also spawn bullets when you shoot, so that you can create bullet hells for your enemies. All while needing to avoid being having the enemies pushed into you. I'm hoping the level design I do will help intuit how best to use them.
